Each new scan, imported file or one-off print uses one, however many pages it has. After that, one payment removes the limit for good — never a subscription — on every device signed in to your Apple Account. Everything already in your library stays free either way.
Papiruno has no accounts and no servers. Scanning, text recognition and building PDFs all happen on your iPhone, and the app collects nothing about you. Your documents go only where you send them: your printer, or an app you pick.

Papiruno prints with AirPrint, the printing built into your iPhone. Check that the printer is switched on, connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone, and supports AirPrint — most wireless printers made in the last decade do, and the box or manual will say.
Also check that Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Papiruno is on: iOS needs it to find printers. If no app can see the printer, restarting the printer and your Wi-Fi router usually helps.
Your first 20 new documents are free. Each new thing you bring in uses one, however many pages it has: a scan when you keep it or first send it out, a file or photo you import, something saved from the Share button, or a one-off print from the Print tab.
Printing, sharing, editing or searching anything already in your library is never counted. The number left is shown on the Scan tab.
No. Removing the limit is a single payment, and it covers every device signed in to the same Apple Account. Papiruno has no subscriptions.
Text recognition runs on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework. It reads these languages:
Scans in other languages — Greek or Hebrew, for example — are still saved, printed and shared, just not searchable. The exact list for your iPhone and iOS version is in Papiruno under Settings › Languages it can read.
